BASIC COMPETENCIES FOR DRIVING NC II


                This post is indicated as an important component of the Driving NC II course as per TESDA Training Regulation.

               The Course curriculum as designed by ASKEDWELL CENTER, focuses on competency-based learning and peer learning approach.

               A list of situations, are presented to provide the learners with the opportunity to discuss with peers on a peer -learning training model. An important factor in these activities is the writing of a report based on a simplified format.


1.1 Participating in workplace communications
a)                   When driving through unfamiliar areas and you are not familiar with the dialect and you need ask for directions, what will you say to a bystander?




b)                  While looking at the traffic sighs along a highway you noticed the distance is placed at 150 kilometers. How many miles is that distance?




c)                   Please write or describe the condition of the radiator, clutch cylinder and brakes
d)                  Indicate your location based on the nearest national highway.





2.1 Working in team environment
a. you are driving a vehicle and it in a heavy traffic, what is the first thing you need to do and why




b.how will you move the vehicle if he engine is stalled?





3.1 Practicing career professionalism
a.while driving a vehicle on a less travelled road, and you notice a vehicle ahead with a flat tire, what will you do and why?




b. a car owner has offered you a reward for helping the person with changing his tire, what will you do and why?




a.                     a big and robust woman is opening the hood of car while looking at the steam rising from the engine. What will you say to the woman?





4.1 Practicing occupational health and safety procedures
a.car you are driving starts to emit dark smoke in the tail pipe and  engine smoke can be smelled inside the car. What will you inspect first and why?




c. your car slips in the shoulder of the road and the road is wet and muddy. What is the most appropriate thing to do and why?




d.you are driving in a hilly area and  visibility is low due to  fog. What is the most appropriate action for safety?



b.             sometimes a car burns while running on the road. When you are confronted with that situation what will you do first, second and third courses of action.




1.1 Applying Appropriate Sealant/ Adhesive
a. the wind shield of your car is leaking during washing and heavy rains. What sealant will you use. Name at least 3 brands of sealants
b.a plastic component of the dashboard is broken. What adhesive will you use and why?




c.after using a sealant/adhesive how do you dispose of the container and why?
